Sex is an important part of intimate relationships. Sex is fun and is one of the greatest parts of being in a relationship. If we have issues with our sex life it can create relationship problems. Sexual difficulties maybe a ‘flag’ of deeper routed problems in a relationship.
Sexual issues can occur at any time, but are more likely to emerge at times of stress. Issues such as going off sex, sex becoming a disappointment, sex becoming the reason you argue are some of the possible ways sexual issues can emerge.
Some people can struggle with their sexual orientation and the feelings they have towards others, especially if these feelings are for somebody of the same sex. These feelings can create a sense of shame and/or self hatred in the person or in other cases they find it difficult to express their sexual orientation as they fear the reaction of others, such as parents etc.
